2020 Chevy Suburban passenger and cargo space
Who remembers being a kid and climbing into Grandpa’s great big old Chevy Suburban to go on a road trip? Didn’t it feel like such a cavernous vehicle, almost like a living room on wheels? The Suburban has long been a heavy hitter in the SUV arena, an aptly named vehicle that is perfect for large families living in your average American town. Chevy is carrying that forward into the next model year, and with that, let’s further examine the 2020 Chevy Suburban passenger and cargo space.
Seating for up to 8 or 9 people
It’s right there in the header. The Suburban can seat as many as eight or nine people when configured for maximum seating capacity! Nine-person seating is available with the LS model with the available front-row split-bench seat. The top-level Premier trim maxes out at seven passengers, otherwise, eight-passenger seating is the most common. It has a total passenger volume of 122.4 cubic feet. Any way you slice it, that is plenty of space for you and your family!
What’s the maximum cargo capacity of the Suburban?
Of course, you’re going to want to know just how much stuff you can bring along for the journey. Behind the third row and with all seats in use, you still have an impressive 39.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity at your disposal. If you don’t need to use those seats, fold them down and you’ll increase the cargo capacity behind the second row to 76.7 cubic feet. Finally, if it’s just you and a passenger up front and you need all the cargo room you can get, perhaps on moving day, fold both the third-row and second-row seats down to open up the Suburban to a whopping 121.7 cubic feet of space.
