The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray impresses on many levels, with its sleek styling, new mid-engine layout, quick acceleration, a driver-focused interior, and many advanced technologies. Earlier this week, the Corvette Stingray received the 2020 North American Car of the Year award. This is in addition to the 2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year award that the 2020 Corvette Stingray received in November 2019.
How was the North American Car of the Year award decided?
The decision for the 2020 North American Car of the Year award for the 2020 Corvette Stingray was made by a 50-member jury of independent journalists that work for magazines, television, radio, newspapers, and industry websites. After evaluating the field of competitors, jurors voted individually to determine the winner of the award. The North American Car Year award honors excellence in innovation, design, safety, performance, technology, driver satisfaction, and value. This is the third time that the Chevrolet Corvette has earned the North American Car of the Year award, with previous victories in 1998 and 2014.
“The 2020 Corvette represents a new era for the iconic brand. The excitement from consumers has been overwhelming. From a journalist’s perspective, this is one of the best-built GM products that exemplifies what it means to be the North American Car of the Year.” – Lauren Fix, North American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year President
