When will the Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV be available?
The Ford Mustang is a legendary vehicle, without a doubt. It’s been blazing trails for decades now, and in a fast-paced and ever-changing world, it’s still evolving. Ford recently announced the highly anticipated 2021 Mustang Mach-E SUV, an all-electric expansion to the decorated Mustang family. When will the Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV be available? The current plan is to release this new vehicle to the masses in late 2020, so there is still a bit of time yet, but we want to go over what we know about it now to get you pumped for this new Mustang!
Electric Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV performance and range
Even just by looking at it, you can tell the Mach-E SUV is truly a Mustang at heart. It has a sleek and aggressive design and looks almost exactly what you would expect an electric Mustang-based SUV to look like. That sleek appearance is matched by its performance. The Mustang Mach-E will offer up standard and extended-range battery options as well as either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. When equipped with the extended-range battery and rear-wheel drive, the targeted EPA-estimated range will surpass 300 miles. If power is what you are really looking for, the extended-range all-wheel drive variation is expected to pound out 332 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque.
Two special performance variations will also be available, with the GT and GT Performance Edition looking to achieve an estimated 342 kW (or 459 horsepower) and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) of torque.
If you know anything about recent Ford models, you know that SYNC® is an impressive infotainment system. The next generation of this system will debut in the 2021 Mustang Mach-E. It will use machine learning to understand the preference of each driver and will have access to over-the-air updates so the system will regularly be up to speed. The controls will be more along the lines of swipe and pinch, like your smartphone, to make for a much more intuitive interface and experience overall.
We are thrilled to see the Mustang evolve in this way. Look for it toward the end of next year!
