The hydraulic dump does the heavy lifting so your crew can work more efficiently. Every Rugby body runs the patented EZ-LATCH tailgate for quick, secure release, and an optional electric release lets you dump from the cab.
Built for the Long Haul
Rugby bodies are built from 10-gauge sides and 7-gauge floors in grade-50 steel, with fully boxed dirt-shedding top rails and full-height corner posts. They shrug off gravel, debris, and stand up to years of daily loading.

Rugby builds dump bodies for everything from a Class 3 chassis to a Class 7 work truck. We'll help you choose the length, side height, and material for what you haul, and match it with the right hoist.
Eliminator LP Light Dump Body
Rugby's best-selling light-duty body for Class 3–5 trucks, available in carbon steel, stainless, or aluminum with rigid or fold-down sides. Built with a one-piece floor, dirt-shedding top rail, and the patented EZ-LATCH tailgate. 9'6" and 11'6" lengths with 12" or 17" sides. Aluminum runs up to 50% lighter than steel.
Eliminator Medium Duty
Engineered to haul more on a 22,000 GVWR chassis, this Class 5–7 carbon steel body fits any major medium-duty OEM cab-chassis. Lengths from 9'7" to 12'4" with 20" sides and a 26" tailgate, interchangeable standard and tall cab shields, and the EZ-LATCH tailgate. Capacities of 4–7 cubic yards.
Contractor Dump Body
A heavier Class 5–7 body with independently operated double-door fold-down sides and a removable center post for easy loading and unloading. 12'3", 14'3", and 16'3" lengths with 17" sides and 4–6 cubic yard capacity, built from grade-50 steel with 7-gauge floors on the longer bodies.

Sides Built for Loading
Rigid sides for maximum strength or fold-down sides for easy loading from a skid steer or by hand, in heights from 12" up to 30" depending on the body. The Contractor's double doors drop with a single-pin center-post release.
Tailgates That Do More
Every Rugby body uses the patented EZ-LATCH tailgate for quick, slam-lock release. It's double-acting — swing it open from the top to dump, or crack it at the bottom and, with the spreader chains, meter sand, gravel, or mulch out as you drive. Add an optional electric release to trip the tailgate right from the cab.

What is a dump body?
A dump body replaces your truck's pickup box or flat deck with a hydraulic bed that raises to unload. Instead of shoveling material out by hand, a hoist lifts the front of the body and the load slides out the tailgate.
What brand of dump bodies do you carry?
We sell and install Rugby Manufacturing dump bodies, and we stock the lineup: the light-duty Eliminator LP, the Eliminator Medium Duty, and the fold-down Contractor. Tell us what the truck needs to do and we'll point you to the right one.
Should I get steel, stainless, or aluminum?
Carbon steel is the tough, economical standard. Stainless resists corrosion and holds up well to road salt. Aluminum runs up to 50% lighter than steel, which frees up payload and saves fuel. The best choice depends on what you haul and where you run, so reach out and we'll talk through the trade-offs for your work.
Will a dump body fit my truck?
Fit comes down to your truck's cab-to-axle measurement, frame, and GVWR, and Rugby builds bodies to match everything from a Class 3 chassis to a Class 7 work truck. Tell us the year, make, and model and we'll confirm what works before you order anything.
Do I need a hoist too?
Yes. The hoist is what raises the body to dump. Rugby builds SR and LR series hoists sized to the body and load, and we plumb and wire the whole system in-house so it's ready to work when you pick up the truck.
Rigid or fold-down sides?
Rigid sides are the simplest and strongest. Fold-down sides make it easier to load from the side with a skid steer or by hand and to reach across the bed. The Contractor's double-door sides even drop with a single-pin center-post release. We'll help you decide based on how you load.
Can you install a body on a truck I already own?
Yes. We install dump bodies and hoists whether or not the truck came from us. If you're shopping for the truck too, we carry new and used chassis cabs from Chevy, GMC, Ford, and Ram and can have the body mounted before you pick it up.
How long does the install take?
It depends on the body, the hoist, and anything else going on the truck, but because we stock bodies and do the work in-house, our turnaround is usually weeks rather than months. Call us with your project and we'll give you a realistic timeline up front.
Can you set it up for snow and ice?
Yes. Dump bodies do double duty as spreader platforms, and we can add the gear to run a spreader insert plus the lighting and controls for winter work. Ask us about a setup that hauls material in season and handles snow and ice in the winter.
What is the warranty?
Rugby covers every dump body with a 3-year (36-month) limited warranty on material and workmanship, and the hydraulic and electric hoist components carry their own 36-month coverage. Factory paint is warranted for 12 months and primer for 6. We handle warranty support here at the Truck Center rather than sending you to the manufacturer.
