Types of CM Service Bodies

CM builds a variety of service bodies that we stock and order daily. We'll help you choose from heavy duty steel or lightweight aluminum, and build a tailor-made setup for the type of gear you haul and equipment you tow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a service body?
A service body replaces your truck's pickup box with a work platform that has enclosed storage compartments built into both sides. Instead of tools riding loose in the bed, everything has a dry, sealed place, and the open deck in the middle is still free for hauling.
What brand of service bodies do you carry?
We sell and install CM Truck Beds service bodies, and we stock the lineup: the CMG steel convertible, the CMA aluminum convertible, and the SBC reinforced crane body. Tell us what the truck needs to do and we'll point you to the right one.
Will a service body fit my truck?
Fit comes down to your truck's cab-to-axle measurement, frame, and payload rating, and service bodies come in a range of sizes to match. Tell us the year, make, and model and we'll confirm what works before you order anything.
Should I get steel or aluminum?
Steel is a durable choice for heavy duty work, and aluminum is lightweight and corrosion resistant. The best choice for you will depend on what you haul, how far you drive, where you store your truck, and more. Reach out, and we'll gladly discuss the pros and cons of both materials for your work needs.
Can you build a crane truck?
Yes. CM's SBC reinforced crane body is built for it, and it pairs with Tiger and Auto Crane units from 3,200 to 6,500 pounds. A workbench bumper with built-in outriggers is available, too. Call us with what you need to lift and we'll spec the body and crane together.
Can you install a body on a truck I already own?
Yes. We install service bodies whether or not the truck came from us. If you're shopping for the truck too, we carry new and used chassis cabs from Chevy, GMC, Ford, and Ram and can have the body mounted before you pick it up.
How long does the install take?
It depends on the build and what else is going on the truck, but because we stock bodies and do the work in-house, our turnaround is usually weeks rather than months. Call us with your project and we'll give you a realistic timeline up front.
What is the warranty?
CM covers every service body with a four-year, 48,000-mile warranty. Steel bodies carry a six-year no rust-through guarantee and the aluminum CMA carries a ten-year guarantee. We handle warranty support here at the Truck Center rather than sending you to the manufacturer.
Can you add a liftgate, crane, or ladder rack?
Yes. We stock liftgates, ladder and headache racks, work lighting, hitches, and toolboxes, and they can all be installed at the same time as the body, which saves you a second trip. Our accessories page has the full lineup of what we carry.
Do you work with fleets?
Yes. We outfit work trucks and fleets for businesses, utilities, cities, and townships across the region, and we can keep body and compartment configurations consistent as you add trucks. Contact the Truck Center to talk through your fleet's needs.
Do you offer flat beds and dump beds too?
Yes, we proudly stock flat beds and dump bodies. If you're not sure which is right for your work, call us or stop by to compare options in person. We're happy to walk you through the differences and find the one that works best for your needs.
